As we all know, the maintenance of the printhead is the most important and basic for a crystal labelprinter. If the printhead is not well maintained, the printing effect will be affected at least, or the printhead will be scrapped and need to be replaced. So how should the printhead be maintained?
1. First of all, when installing the print head, the cables on both sides need to be affixed with special tape to prevent water from entering the cable port and causing the head to burn. This detail is very important.
2. It is necessary to clean the bottle print head and print test strips every day when turning on and off the machine to check the status of the print head.
3. Before shutting down the machine after work every day, move the printing cart to the left and wipe the ink stain on the surface of the print head with a special cotton cloth to keep it clean.
4. If the print head has not been used for a long time, you need to use moisturizing fluid to moisturize the print head. And keep printing 2 times a week.
5. In case of National Day or Spring Festival holidays（long holidays), the print head needs to be cleaned and maintained internally under professional operations.
2. Ink cap maintenance
1. Epson printheades need to be kept moist and not dry from the moment they are filled with ink. Therefore, the ink cap is an inseparable match of the printhead and plays a sealing and moisturizing role for the printhead.
2. However, if the ink cap is used for too long, the accumulation of ink dirt on the sponge pad inside will affect the ink extraction effect when cleaning the printhead. It is recommended to use a special cleaning fluid to clean it every month. If the effect is still not good after cleaning, the ink cap needs to be replaced.
3. Secondly, it is recommended to wipe clean the rubber ring around the ink cap after finishing work every day to ensure its sealing.

The wiper is used to scrape off excess ink on the print head when cleaning it. If used for a long time, ink will remain on the wiper. At this time, you need to use moisturizing liquid to wipe the ink on the wiper surface, because too much ink will corrode the wiper. It is recommended to wipe it clean before shutting down every day.
If the wiper has become bent and rolled up, the wiper needs to be replaced.
4. Maintain a good working environment
The optimal working environment temperature of UV DTF is 15-25℃ and the humidity is 40-60%. In addition, each printer must be connected to an effective ground wire to keep the machine working in a good working environment, which is beneficial to the stability of the machine.
5. Store ink away from light
UV ink dries easily when exposed to light and cannot be used once it dries. Therefore, the ink must be stored away from light.
The ink tube, waste ink bottle, and printhead of the machine must be protected from light, and must be covered with a closing plate when working.
6. Waste ink tube maintenance
The waste ink produced when the machine is working will be discharged from the waste ink pipe, but when the machine is not working, the waste ink pipe must be clamped and placed to prevent the ink in the ink road from drying out and blocking the pipe.
7. Clean up waste ink tank in time
When the waste ink tank is full, clean the waste ink in time.
8. Keep the machine clean
Keep the machine clean at all times, and do not allow the machine and internal parts to become dusty. Dust particles not only affect printing results, but may also damage the print head. Especially when you are not using the machine during a long vacation, be sure to keep the machine casing tightly closed. If possible, you can cover it with a layer of plastic to prevent dust.
9. Daily operation work
For UV DTF printers, the best maintenance method is to print products every day. When the printer stops working for a long time, a series of minor problems with the machine will occur. If there is really no need for work, it will take at least 3 days to start the machine and start printing to keep the ink flowing throughout the ink road.
10. Regularly conduct whole-machine inspections
The parts of the machine will age and wear out over time. The UV DTF printer must be inspected regularly for the whole machine. If any problems are solved in a timely manner, the printer can work better.
